In the last decade, we have come to see the absolute tenacity and ingenuity that young people have when faced with an issue they are passionate about. We can see this in so many forms, from the popping up of local grassroots organisations aimed at dealing with a specific problem like mental health, local flooding etc. All the way to national campaigns that thousands of people partake in like the #IWill campaign or the extinction rebellion protests in London and the rest of the country.
With this in mind, we have decided to focus on three ways we can try to make a difference:
CAMPAIGN
Climate change,
Gender equality
Anti-Racism (BLM)
Climate change is an issue that affects everyone around the world but the UK can and should take a leading role in combating it.
On 1-12 November, United Kingdom will host the 26th UN Conference on Climate Change (COP26) of the Parties in Glasgow. With this in mind, the UK-YAN wishes to arrange an official side event with speakers from all over the world working together on many key topics:
How can Youth engage more the government and NGO’s to combat climate change?
What are the next steps in combating climate change?

SPEAKING AND NETWORKING EVENTS TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE CONNECT
The young people are unfortunately not backgrounds for people who are already heavily involved in campaigning, governance and business. This is mainly applicable to sectors that are extremely difficult for young people to pursue. UK-YAN is interested in this age-old dilemma in many respects.

We aim to collaborate with specialists in their professions and we create a list of speakers, which can be accessed by our member organisations, to support their own events.
OUTREACH
In the past decade, we have seen the rise of youth movements in all walks of life, all aimed at changing the environment they currently reside in. These range from climate change protest movements to bodies set up to combat local issues.
We want to work on making these people engage in politics at the state, national and international level with tremendous convictions.

Would you like to support our efforts?
